At Gotham Point, the waterfront is your backyard. The views here are a treasure, and the neighborhood teems with options for enjoying them. Enjoy a scenic riverside stroll in one of the multiple parks at your doorstep, or treat yourself to a simple coffee or an extraordinary meal at one of the neighborhood’s many sidewalk cafes, brasseries, and fine dining establishments.

Anable Basin Sailing Bar & Grill

Unpretentious, compact, and cash only, this waterside eatery on the East River offers a simple menu of burgers, hot dogs, and beer. Enjoy breathtakingly beautiful Manhattan skyline views in a very relaxed atmosphere, with large picnic tables that can accommodate up to 10 people per party.

Hunter’s Point South Park

We might be biased, but this is the best waterfront park in the city. Transformed from an abandoned post-industrial area into a space that offers fun and relaxation for everyone, Hunter’s Point South Park includes a central green, playgrounds, adult fitness equipment, a dog run, a bikeway, a waterside promenade, picnic terraces, a basketball court, a 30-foot-tall cantilevered platform for viewing the skyline and waterfront, and a 13,000-square-foot pavilion that contains comfort stations, concessions, and an elevated cafe plaza. Prepare a meal-to-go in your Gotham Point kitchen or pick up some treats from Blackstar Bakery or 51st Street Bakery and Cafe and enjoy a picnic in the park.

Piatto

Offering a front row seat to the NYC skyline, Piatto features a fabulous and fun Italian dining experience on Center Blvd. Enjoy specialty pizzas from wood burning ovens, brunch on weekends, and dinner every night.

Santa Chiara Caffè

Located just across the street from The Oval in Hunters Point South Park, this quaint cafe offers authentic Italian pasticceria and coffee. Described by owner Cristiano Rossi, “Our outdoor space is stunning, complemented by unobstructed views of Manhattan. Good coffee, gelato, and pastries with a breathtaking view—what more could you ask for? This is La Dolce Vita in Long Island City.” Show your Gothamcard to receive a special resident discount.

American Brass

Located directly across from the historically preserved Long Island City Gantries, American Brass is a waterfront restaurant with a relaxed, upscale setting, featuring New American fare with a local focus. Chef Kevin McGinley, formerly of Michelin Star restaurant Bátard, serves every dish with fanatical attention to flavor and detail, and the beer list features many LIC brews.
